Wendy strode pridely into the Great Hall. Today was the first day of her new life. A life as a second year at Hogwarts, who would be the best at school and hung out with all the cool kids. She wasn't tired at all, because she had gone straight to bed after the feast. Some Hufflepuffs had stayed up for a bit to chat in the Common Room, but most of them knew that they had a big day tomorrow and that sleep was important. Oh, how she loved Hufflepuff. Always responsible, always hard working.
The girl was a little disappointed to see how deserted the Great Hall was. She had made a grand entrance, but what was a grand entrance without an audience? Okay, so perhaps it wasn't even that exciting that Wendy Rain entered the Great Hall, but she liked to make up scenario's like that in her head. She wore the same clothes as all the girls here, but people said that if you wear your clothes with confidence, you will always look better. Wendy had her confidence pants - so to speak, because all the girls wore skirts - on, and she was determined to keep them on the rest of the year.
She walked to the Hufflepuff table and sat down as graciously as she could. Ooh, scrambled eggs! The girl grinned excitedly, then realized that wasn't the behaviour of a superstar, and calmly ate her breakfast. She let her gaze wander around the Great Hall, looking for cool people she could greet. She did see a last year Slytherin girl, the one who had been on the ground with Val. She must be cool. But even though Wendy was really confident today and felt like a superstar, waving at some girl she didn't know went a little bit too far.
