A secret to share? [open]

Lily trudged in to the Hall, sopping wet, having just come in from the rain. She flipped her wet hair out of her face and strode over to the Gryffindor table, taking a seat in the center as usual. She grabbed a mug and poured herself a hot chocolate before waving her wand to dry her clothes and hair. She smiled as her hair returned to its usual flaming waves and stopped dripping down her face. She held the mug in two hands, glancing over the few other students in the hall.

Basil walked into the Great Hall looking through her bag that sat on her shoulder. She looked up to find Lily sitting at the Gryffindor table. She smiled, and walked over to her. Basil sat down in the seat directly in front of Lily. She glanced around the hall before saying, "hey there."

Lily smiled kindly as the Ravenclaw girl took a seat in front of her. "Hey Basil! How've you been?" She took a long gulp of the hot chocolate savoring the warmth. She sat studying the girls face, and eyed the bag she carried.

Will walks brisk fully into the Great hall after having fun outside with some of his other friends, he slugs down on the table by a girl from the same house as him soaking wet and starts to wipe himself off spraying water everywhere on the table, with a smirk realizing the mess he caused.

Basil shrugs. "I've been alright. And yourself?" She followed the girl's eyes to her bag. She smiled, pulling her bag closer to her side.

She grinned, "Oh you know me, keeping out of trouble." Her eyes followed a young Ravenclaw as he sat at the Gryffindor table. She smirked at him and raised an eybrow before turning back to Basil. Again she looked at the bag, "What you got there?" she spoke, and gestured to the girl's bag.

She smiled at the Ravenclaw boy who sits down besides her. "Hey there." Basil turns back to Lily. "Oh, nothing. It's just, you know, stuff..."

She raised an eyebrow and lowered her voice. "Don't tell me you've been picking things in the forest again. You know you'll get in to trouble if you're caught." She turned and smiled at the young boy, "You do realise you're sat at the Gryffindor table right?" She crossed her arms, "You're lucky I take kindly to strangers."

Will stares at the girls hot chocolate with big beaming eyes, and licking his lips makes a slurp sound. He can feel the sense that he's getting looked at but doesn't moves his eyes off the cup. He asked the Gryffindor girl "where she got the drink from as if he had never seen it before. "

Basil shrugs, a mischievous smile forcing itself on her lips. She shrugs. "I don't know. Have I been? Maybe..."

Will looks confused with all the excitement outside he not noticed where he had been sitting on the Gryffindor table all along. He looks at the two girls next to him and speaks in a soft tone " Oh hey, sorry i didn't mean to be on the wrong table, my names Will by the way, if you want i can leave? "

She walks into the Great Hall and looks around to see if she knew anyone. She laughs slightly to herself when she sees a couple of Ravenclaws at the Gryffindor table. She walks over to them and says nonchalantly. "You know, you would think we would want to sit at our own table sometime." She smiles and sits down by Basil. "So how've you been, Basil, Lily, other Ravenclaw guy I don't know?"

She laughs. "Oh, I'm at the wrong table also. Ravenclaw." Basil says, pointing to her robes. "I'm Basil. Pleasure to meet you Will. You can stay if you like." She smiles as CC joins them. "Hey there CC. I've been quite well. And yourself?"

Lily laughed at the young boys behavious, "You're thirsty? Just grab a mug and pour a drink.. it's not exactly difficult. I'm Lily Luna by the way." She laughed even more at Basil's reply to her question. "Yeah yeah" Her head turned at the sound of another voice. "CC! How are you?!" she grinned at the three Ravenclaws. Am I at the right table? she thought to herself and sniggered.

"Oh, your name's Will? Pleasure to meet you then." She smiles at the boy then turns back to Lily and Basil. "I've been good. No prefect duties tonight! I can relax a bit." She glances around and winks at any Gryffindor that looks at her. "You know... I think this is the first time I've eaten at the Gryffindor table."

"Everyone needs a break once in a while." She says smiling. "it's never too good to be working all the time..."

She grinned at CC, "I'm starting to think it's a multi-house table. Anyone and everyone seems to end up sat with me here!" Lily laughed and took another swig of her drink, looking round at the few students. "No duties? Lucky you! I thought they'd tightened up on the patrols?" she smiled kindly.

Will grabbed a mug from the middle of the table, and pours the hot chocolate and quick as he could, takes a big gulp and can finally relax. He looks to Lily across the table and says " Thanks Lily " in an excited mood He then scoots a little closer to them to get into the conversation. " I don't really know many older year students, i don't know why?" He gives the prefect a kind smile after their brief introduction.

"Yes, they have," she says darkly. "Whatever is out there needs to stop. Plus I always have to be with another student plus a professor. That's not very interesting company... And then you have some idiot kids who insist on trying to get out late at night." She sighs exasperated. "Dumbledore has not rewarded me, he has punished me..." She grabs a plate of food. "But who cares right now? I'm off duty for the night. Time to enjoy it."

Lily shrugged, "Maybe you just haven't mingled enough. I'm betting you don't have many friends outside of Ravenclaw either?" she smiled at the young boy before taking a final gulp of her drink and resting the mug back on the table. Lily stifled a laugh at the prefects words, knowing that she was one of those who snuck around at night, only she didn't get caught. She gave her a huge smile, "You can actually get a decent night's sleep!"

She stares at Lily suspiciously over her food then drops it. It wasn't really her problem. Then she smiles slightly to herself. "Man, I sound old don't I? If I wasn't a prefect, I would probably be sneaking out myself. But unfortunately I'm too busy." She sighs over dramatically. "Anybody want to take my job?"

She laughed again "I don't think you can get out of your job THAT fast CC" she glanced idly around the hall. She rested her chin in her hands and smiled at the three Ravenclaws, beginning to fade in to her own thoughts.

She sends another smile towards Lily then stands up yawning. "I need sleep even if it is a bit earlier than normal. Good night, all of you." She waves to them.

Basil picks up an apple from the table, watching the other three closely she bites into the apple and glances out a window. She yawns, covering her mouth with her hand, then bites into the apple once more. "Night, CC."

She smiled and waved as the girl left the table and turned her attention back to the others. "So Herb, how's the thing with Hex going? Made up yet?" she flashed a smile.
