Just another school morning [open]

Tor yawned widely and scratched at his messy hair whilst he trudged sleepily to the great hall for breakfast. He accidentally bumped into a couple of students on the way mumbling incoherent apologies, he didn't really function properly without his first cup of black coffee. Finally he arrived at the Hufflepuff table and summoned a pot of black coffee and poured himself a mug sighing happily when the bitter liquid slid down his throat.

Kaila had always been an early riser, though she stayed up late most of the time. She liked the Great Hall in the morning, when almost no one was there. She liked it's quietness, it's sereneness. Most of the time, she didn't even eat much, unless it was before a game. No, most of the time she read at the table, like she was now, unaware of anything around her.

He was feeling a lot more coherent know after his first cup of coffee. Summoning some toast a preservatives and stretched out accidentally hitting a Ravenclaw behind him. "Goodness me! Please excuse me, I have yet to wrap my head around the fact that it is morning and I should behave accordingly." He scratched the back of his head and smiled.

Kaila had already delved deep into her studies, though it was early in the year. She was determined to have the best grades possible this year, wanting nothing short of a perfect record. Out of nowhere, she felt something hit the back of her head. She turned, ready to face Slytherin, or perhaps even a Gryffindor. But the quick apology had her surprised. A Hufflepuff. Not just any Hufflepuff. "Tor." She said, giving him a smile.

He grinned widely when he recognized Kaila and moved to straddle the bench to convers with her more easily. "Kaila! Good morning, how are you?" He shuffled his robes around to get more comfortable and then remembered that he hit. "Did I hurt you just now?" He asked with a concerned frown.

(Straddle.. -snigger-)

She smiled at the blonde Hufflepuff boy. "Good morning, Tor." She carefully placed a bookmark in her book and set it down. "I'm fine." She said, smiling again.

He grinned and nodded his head. "That is good to know, have you eaten yet?" He gestured to the food on the table.

She smiled. She was reminded again of how well mannered the blonde boy was. "I've been here for a while." She sent a glance to her book.

He saw her glance towards something on the table and followed her look noticing the book. "I see that you have been reading but that does not answer my question about eating? Ravenclaws are known for having a book near them are they not? So I'm sure that you can also have forgotten to eat so I shall ask you again. Would you like to join me for breakfast or have you already eaten?" He smiled and rests his head in the palm of his hand studying Kaila gently.

She followed his gaze to her book. "They are known for that." She smiled. "I... I've had some tea and toast." She admitted.

He nods in satisfaction at the answer. "I hope you wouldn't mind if ate while we convers do you?" He buttered his toast and slapped on some orange preservatives on his toast.

She shook her head. "Not at all." She thought about moving to the Hufflepuff table so the boy wouldn't have to sit at the odd angle. She realized something then. She had never sat any tables but her own and Slytherin. In fact, she had spent a lot of time last year at the Slytherin table...

He saw Kaila lost in thought whilst he took a bite out of his toast. He quickly chewed and washed the carnage down with a gulp of coffee. "What's got you thinking so hard about something?" He tugged at this robe and shrugged it off glaring at the black pool of cloth behind him. "Would you like to join me for something to drink?" He gestures to a spot beside him on the bench.

"Hm? Oh, nothing." She smiled a bit. She looked over at the spot on the bench. Giddily, she grabbed her things and moved on the spot on the bench designated.

He grinned when he saw her gather her things and stood up until Kaila had seated herself before settling down himself. He stretched his legs out under the bench. "Can I offer you anything to drink?" He poured himself more coffee and took another bite out of his toast.

Carefully she stowed her book in her bag and set it down on the bencch beside her. So, now she had sat at three of the four house tables. "Tea would be lovely." She smiled.

He smiled back and summoned a pot of tea for her and a cup. "Milk? Sugar?" He asked whilst pouring her a cup.

She smiled at the boy. "Yes please, I can do it though." She didn't want to be too much of a bother.

"Nonsense, a lady should be treated with respect and care." He summoned milk and sugar. Pouring in a little milk and sugar her stirred the tea until the granules has dissolved and handed the cup to Kaila. "Missing anything?"

Kaila smiled to the boy. She rather liked his well mannered demeanor, it was hard to come by. She took the cup and lightly sipped it. "That's perfect, thank you."

He grinned crookedly and drank his coffee having finished his toast. "What classes do you have today?"

She smiled. "I have Charms first, then Potions, Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures and Transfiguration. Flying at the end of the day." She paused. "I'll be taking Alchemy to, but it's extra cirricular...."

He whistles impressively. "You are certainly busy, do you know when you're next game will be?" He really wanted to see her flying again, she looked so carefree and happy whilst she was in the air.

She shrugged a bit. "I technically only have charms, potions and care of magical creatures, tomorrow I'll take herbology, defense against the dark arts and tranfiguration. I have flying both days though..." She thought aloud. "I don't know when the first game is, I have to sort through the new recruits and old players to see who'll make the team..."
