Letters and owls [open]

Lucifer decided to go visit the owlery, why? He had no idea. It wasn't like he was going to receive a letter from home. Nonetheless, he casually made his way over there walking near the edge of the woods enjoying the crisp morning air.

The letter clutched in Rory's hand crinkled a bit. The message for his uncle included a summary of current school events, grades of all the children under Ryan O'Reily's care (perhaps a little 'cushioned' for Rory and James, and of course, a healthy dose of Quidditch mixed in. Rory himself didn't own an owl, he had a cat. A lazy one at that. But borrowing Andy's owl wasn't too entirely frowned upon. If James' owl wasn't as lazy or easily distracted as his owner, Rory would use him. But alas, he spent much too much time with Rory's cousin. So the task feel to the ever diligant Wolfgang Amodues Mozart, so named by Andy, to carry the letter to Ireland and be back promtly. Not quite paying attention to where he was going, Rory almost completely ran into a familiar Slytherin.

He heard footsteps too close to him and spun around to see who would dare try to sneak up on him. Brandishing his cane he was about to clobber the other person until he recognized who it was. "Rory." He settled his cane back down beside him.

Rory blinked a few times, staring. "Black." The memories of the other day quickly rose to the front of his mind.

He nodded. "That is I. What brings you out here?" He looked Rory over and noticed a letter clutched in his hand. "A letter home I presume?" Let's walk then." He started off again towards the owlery.

Was he just going to pretend nothing happened? Appearantly so. He opened his mouth to answer the question before it was answered for him. "Er, yes." He stared off at the boy before shrugging and moving to walk with him.

He glanced at Rory as they walked. "Something on your mind Rory?"

He really is going to pretend nothing happened. "No." He lied smoothly.

He nodded. "If you insist." They slowly came upon the owlery. "I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that you're thinking about the kiss?" He glanced at Rory and raised an eyebrow in question.

The Irish boy put his hands, and the letter, in his pocket. It was getting colder everyday here, and Rory hated it. He hated the cold. He turned away from the SLytherin, eyes on the floor, still walking. "Wha' gave it away?"

He smirked. "You. Just now when asked me 'what gave it away'." He continued walking to the tower. "What has gotten you so bothered about it?"

He sighed and gave a glare out the corner of his eye. "Really? Why 'm I bothe'ed?" He shook his head. "Ye really don' know?"

He shook his head. "Am I supposed to know?" He stopped walking and turn to stare at Rory. "Enlighten me then."

He sighed, irrated. He stopped when the Slytherin boy did. "Yes, ye 're supposed t' know." He shook his head again ins disbelief. "In case ye haven' noticed, boy's don't normally kiss boys. An', ain't ye got a lass already?"

He blinked. "Who says I'm not supposed to kiss a boy? Is there a law against it?" He tilted his head slightly. "I've got a lady? I don't know. I have yet to explore these new... Urges... That I've had." He shrugged. "All of this is very new to me. I've been having odd emotions lately and I don't know what they are or what I should be doing with them."

He sighed again. "Well... No..." Did Lucifer honestly have no concept of what was accepted by most? He must. Musn't he? "'Course..." He eyed the boy for another moment or two before looking away.
