Down for a drink [open]

The Irish boy laughed with Hunter. "So, what year are in, huh? Oh, and 'm in Gryffindor by th' way."

"Year six, as I just said. I'm a Ravenclaw." He grinned and nodded.

"Ravenclaw huh? Dunno many 'o those." He grinned right back. Reaching forward he pulled his butterbeer to his lips and drunk deeply. He finished it with a sigh and wiped his lips on his sleeve. "Ya know, these're great. Don't 'ave this at 'ome." Again his thick accent reared it's head.

He laughed again. "I know, I love them too. But I still prefer Firewhiskey." He finished his coffee and got up. "Well, it was nice talking to you Rory. I think I'll go to bed. See you soon." And he walked upstairs.

"Firewhiskey, huh?" Rory wasn't going to pretend he hadn't had the stuff before. "Nice talkin' to ye to, Hunter. Night then." He smiled at the boy.

She looks up again this time seeing a boy alone. Wondering where he's from she finds herself staring and suddenly looks away hoping he didn't realise. She picks up her book to hide her face and laughs to herself.

Rory looked down at his mug. He waved the innkeeper over. "Nother one, yeah?" He asked, handing over the coins. He looked around the pub. He paused a moment though to notice a girl quickly bury her face into a book. She looked a bit familiar. Perhaps he had seen her in school? He wondered idly if he should say something, but decided against it.

Lily was never one to socialise, but the place was so empty and she though it would only be rude not to make conversation. She stood up debating whether to go directly over, in theend she took a detour to get another Butterbeer and then walked over to his table. "erm.. hey" she says, smiling, "fancy some company?"

The Irish boy idly sipped at his drink. He looked up at the girl who appraoched his table. "Oh, o' course!" He said enthusiasticly with a smile. He gestured to a chair next to himself, taking his feet off the chair.

"My name's Lily Luna, I couldn't help but notice your accent.. Irish right?" She grins at him, her left cheek dimpling as she takes a seat at the table. Getting comfortable, she takes a sip of Butterbeer.

"Pleased t' meet ye, Lily Luna. Spot on, Irish; born and bred. I'm Rory. Rory O'Conner." He smiled at her. He wondered, a bit nervously, why she had noticed his accent, not that it wasn't obvious. Did she think him funny for it? Most people did. To him though, it was everyone else that had ridiculous accents.

"My mother's side of the family are Irish" she grins at him, "you don't like your accent though? I can tell you try to hide it." This was the longest she had held a conversation with someone in a while and she was beginning to realise she had no reason to fear socialising. "It has such a lovely sound, you shouldn't hide it" she gave him a warm smile that spread to her eyes.

Rory smiled and listened attentively to the girl. He bit his lip a bit though when she talked about his accent. He tried to stifle it as much as he could and attempted to pick up a British accent like everyone else is school, but that sounded funnier than his normal accent. He felt a slight blush tinge his cheek. He looked down at his butterbeer, holding the mug with two hands, smiling into it. "Really?" This was the first time anyone had really complimented his accent.

Lily smiled as a blush spread across his face and he smiled. "Of course, I don't tell lies. It really is a beautiful accent." She laughed to herself, "So you go to Hogwarts I'm guessing.. I think I've seen you around, that's why i was staring earlier. Well that, and your accent" She blushed a little having admitted to it, but laughed it off, her eyes twinkling.

The Irish boy thought about it for a few moments. Most of the time his accent and his looks alienated him from most. Idly he ran a hand through his messy red hair, pushing it out of his eyes. "Spot on. Gryffindor, I'll be 'n fifth year this year." He continued staring down at his mug, trying to keep his hair in front of his face to hide his slight blush.

"Gryffindor? Me too! Only, i'm in sixth" she flipped her red curls over her shoulder, having gained confidence. "I don't think you're drink'll magically reappear by you staring at your mug" she laughed again, her curls bouncing and called over the innkeeper to have their drinks refilled flipping coins on to the table "this one's on me." Her smile had grown, her dimple showing and her eyes shining. She felt comfortable in public for the first time in months.

Rory grinned. So that was why the girl looked so familiar to him, he had probably seen her around the common room or at the Gryffindor table. He chuckled a bit at the girl's joke. "Oh, ye don' 'ave to do that. I can pay for meself..." He fished in his pockets. He would feel guilty if he let a girl pay for his drink.

"too late" she laughed "already paid." Lily had forgotten how stubborn people could be when it came to paying for themselves, "how about you get the next ones" she beamed at him. "See, your accent is lovely" she added grinning, after realising how he had spoken.

Rory sighed a bit, but decided he would buy the next ones. A thought suddenly occured; she wanted to sit with him for another round? He smiled. He quickly grabbed his mug though and stared down into it when she spoke of his accent again.

Lily noticed that he wasn't comfortable with his accent, "look, I know you don't like it, and I won't mention it again if you like," she looked directly at his face, even though it was slightly hidden "but i want you to know that I think it's gorgeous" she smiled. Looking around she realised they were the only people there and she suddenly became very conscious of herself. She looked down blushing and started twiddling her thumbs, social nerves beginning to get the better of her.

"I's jus'..." He let his voice trail. "People 're always makin' fun o' me 'cuase of it, ya know?" He kept his voice quiet, half hoping she wouldn't hear him. He smiled a bit behind his vibrant hair, to red to be orange with dark brown tossed into it. He lifted the mug to his lips and drank a bit.

"I'd never make fun of it, of you.." she smiled at him, her green eyes reflecting the candlelight that lit where they sat. She took a sip of her Butterbeer, then decided to down it. why save it she thought to herself. Lily looked around her, the emptiness of the inn made her uncomfortable but then she looked back at Rory and his smile made her relax. She smiled again, her dimple showing and tossed the red curls that had fallen on to her face over her shoulder so they tumbled down her back.

Rory smiled again down at his drink. Idly he looked around the pub. With a start he realized the inn was empty, sans himself and Lily Luna. Looking over at the girl he realized her mug was empty. Quickly he downed the rest of his. "I got this one!" He beamed, fishing in his pockets for money.

She laughed at his urgency to pay for their next round, "thanks" she said smiling, "you didn't need to drink yours in such a rush though." She looked at his face, realising she was staring again, only this time she didn't hide it. "I swear I know you from somewhere other than Hogwarts" she frowned trying to think.. maybe it was just her mind playing tricks on her.

He noded to her. "I was pro'ly gonna en' up drinkin' it tha' way anyways." He said with a smile. He looked at the girl. He shifted bit uncomfortably at her staring. "I dunno where else ye coul' 'ave seen me. I don' even live in England..."
