Down for a drink [open]

She shrugged it off and laughed "yeah you're probably right, sorry for staring" She smiled at him "so what are you doing here, it's the holidays, surely you want to be home?" She looked down and started twiddling her thumbs again, it appeared that her fear was still standing strong and she started to look around scared of her surroundings, even though they were homely to her.

He laughed a bit with the girl. "'s no problem. Well, me aunt and uncle took me cousins on a vacation. A friend o' ours 's watchin' the house, so I decid'd t' just stay 'ere an see England." Rory didn't like extended sentances like that one, they showed his accent more than he cared.

"sounds like a good plan" she smiled as his accent shone through, but didn't say anything, "do you live with you aunt and uncle then?" Lily realised she was prying, but she had always been the curious type of girl.. she beamed at him to hide the anxiety building inside her.

"I do, back 'ome in Ireland." He smiled a bit at the recolection of his home. He lived with his aunt, uncle, and four cousins. They lived in a cozy farmhouse on a hill, overlooking their crop fields and livestock fields. It was far away from any town or village, isolated. Perfect place for a family of wizards to live. Not too far from the house, there was a cliff that over looked the sea and a beach. The water was always cold, but that was ok. It was better for picnicing on the sand than swimming.

"Looks like you're fond of home by that smile" she laughed her eyes lighting up. It was nice that he had a family, unlike herself. "Are they non-magical?" She had always hated the word muggle and rarely used it herself, she found it to be degrading and it sounded ugly.

He noded a bit and laughed. He really liked his home, though there were very important things missing to make it perfect... He laughed a bit at her next question, though he really didn't mean it. "Hardly. Pureblood, t'rough and t'rough. Me cousins got t' Hogwarts to. Ye may 'ave 'eard of them, the O'Reiley's?"

She smiled brightly, "Oh! The O'Reiley's are your cousins?!" she'd heard of them alright. Lily thought back to the last person she'd met who lived with Magicals, there were so few of them these day. Although she lived with a witch herself, she couldn't help but think of her friends in the non-magical world and what they'd be missing out on. She drained her drink and held her glass up for a refill, throwing some coins at the innkeeper as he bought her another drink she looked back at Rory. He had looked so happy when he spoke of his family and home, she wished she could be the same.

Rory noded. "Right they are. Roudy lot, the lot of 'em. Love 'em all though." He smiled. "Ye know, not nex' year but te year aft'r, me youngest cousin, Sarah, is gonna come to Hogwarts." He laughed a bit and nudged Lily Luna. "Wonder 'here she's gon' be sorted." He laughed a bit at his own joke. Everyone one of his cousins and himself were in Gryffindor. He lookedover at the girl.

"Well if she's anything like the rest of your lot, she'll be gryffindor too" she laughed with Rory. She'd always loved the sound of laughter it made her feel so much more at ease. "Although, if she's not, she could end up in Slytherin," she laughed harder "though I highly doubt that" She smiled her dimple showing and her red curls bounced as she laughed, she was practically glowing in the candlelight.

"You don't say." He laughed a bit at the joke. At hearing the next joke, he fell apart laughing, trying to imagine his cousin in green and silver. "Some'ow, I doubt it." If anything, if she wasn't gryffindor, he fancied she would be a Puff.

She smiled as he laughed, she felt so happy to be having a conversation with someone outside of school in public and to actually be laughing. "I'm glad I came to speak to you" she beamed at him, "I've always found it difficult to talk to people, but you're so lovely" she smiled blushing slightly at her sudden outburst. She'd never told anyone of her fear of socialising before.

"'m glad ye came t' talk as well." He smiled. "O-oh." He blushed a bit at the outburst. He looked down at his mug, feeling a bit akward. "Fer reasons obvious, I don' talk t' a lot o' people either..." He gave a small smile.

"I like listening to your voice" she grinned at him, admiring his smile. "I'm just glad you didn't dismiss me like most people do" her face saddens as she remembers the numerous rejections from social groups and conversations but she shakes it of and gives her best dazzling smile that reaches even her eyes.

"I... thank ye... I' mea's a lot... Not a lot 'o people like it when I talk..." he smiled a bit. After a moment he shyly turned back to his drink and stared down into it.

She grinned at him, "you're really quite shy in general aren't you?" She took a sip of her drink, gripping it with two hands. She blushed at his sudden shyness after realising it was her that brought it on then smiled at him.

Rory felt another tinge of blush on his face. He continued hiding behind his hair. Idly he wondered what about it this exchange that had him like this. Usually Rory was vibrant and joked about everything. But that wa at school, where he had to laugh off comment on his accent and general appearance. This was different.

A bell tinkered as Paris opened the door to the pub, and he stepped inside, sighing lightly after his brisk walk. Pale, observant eyes immediately swept the room, and landed on Rory, then the girl sitting beside him. He recognized Rory; they were in the same year at school, how could he not. The girl, however, he did not recognize, and his eyes lingered on her for that reason. Soon, however, he smiled pleasantly, and nodded to them as he walked up to the counter.

"O'Conner," he said quietly in greeting, then turned to Tom to order. "Ice tea, please."

He needed something cold right now. It was, in reality, a bit too hot for foot long, black robes, but Paris was no stranger to sacrificing comfort for looks.

Lily looked away, blushing herself, she'd never felt so confident in conversation before, usually she kept to herself hiding in her books. She looked up upon hearing the bell of the door, noting that they weren't alone any more. His hes caught hers for a moment and she was held, then she nodded politely to the young man who had entered and turned back to Rory smiling, a blush still apparent on her cheeks.

Rory turned his gaze to the door at the sligth 'ding'. He recognized the boy quickly. At the sound of his name, the Irish boy gave a half hearted, two finger mock salute before picking up his mug and drinking.

Paris tapped a finger against the counter top as Tom bustled into a back room after ice for his tea. He had noticed that both of them were blushing, and he doubted it was from alcohol. Perhaps he had stumbled straight into a date. His smile grew slightly more knowing, and he glanced over at Rory.

"You two look cozy. Is she your...?"

Blushing, Lily quickly butts in, "oh no! We only just met" laughs. "I'm Lily Luna, and you are..?" smiles politely at the young man

Rory looked up at the boy from his year from his seat. He looked up, a bit confused. He furrowed his brow and lifted his mug to his lips. After a moment, realization sunk in. He choked on his butterbeer, sputtering a bit ungracefully. "No! I-I mean, no 'fense 'r anythin' I mean..."

Lily laughed at Rory's confusion, then thought to herself, bit of an extreme reaction.. and sighed. She beamed at the two boys, putting on her friendliest face, her green eyes shining and her red curls tumbling down her back before taking a sip of butterbeer.

He hummed thoughtfully and tilted his head to the side slightly to get a better view of Lily from where he stood at Rory's other side. Rory's embarrassment amused him, but he chose to let it slip by without acknowledging it.

"I'm Paris Claymore. Pleasure to meet you."

It wasn't that he disliked his double name, or felt any sort of shame over why he had it. He had gotten over all of that ages ago. It just felt unnecessary. The name Claymore carried certain status. The name Hawthorne didn't. So, he would often omit it, for practicality's sake.

Rory felt himself blush at his own outburst. Oh O'Conner, just shut your mouth... He thought to himself. He already knew the other boys so he simply noded and looked back down at his mug. You're such a dork, O'Conner...
